Hey everyone!

This month’s devotional is actually coming from the same person who puts these emails together for you! Hi, my name is Ellen, and as well as working here at Rhema, I’m also a youth leader at Toronto Baptist Church.

I thought today I would talk to you about how God is and always will be our rock of salvation.

I know you’re all probably over hearing about covid and all these restriction that keep popping up. Especially right now during the school holidays!!

Even here at Rhema, we now all have to wear masks. And some of us, including myself are working from home!

We thought that everything was slowly going back to normal, but everything can change so quickly, even in a matter of hours.

When everything is changing around you, you might feel scared, or hopeless or even annoyed because you don’t feel in control. But I have some great news for you… God is in control! Even though things might happen in our life that are completely out of our control, God will always be there for you, even when no one else is.

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my saviour.” – 2 Samuel 22:2-3

Even though you might be stuck at home, I would like to encourage you to make the most of these school holidays. This might be the first time in a while that you get to slow down and take a break. Maybe try spending some extra time reading your bible?

Some times we don’t always feel like reading. I know personally that I prefer listening or watching something over reading. There are so many great resources out there, like Christian podcasts, or YouTube videos that explain different books of the Bible.

Thank you for reading my short devotional. I hope you all have a great and relaxing school holiday!
